North Shore improved to 11-2 against West
Oahu this season as the Honu doused the CaneFires, 5-2, tonight at
Hans L’Orange Park. The Hawaii Winter Baseball West Division champion North Shore
squad took advantage of six CaneFires errors, and improved to a league-best
24-12-1 mark.
Alexander Presley and Daniel Worth each notched three of North Shore’s
nine base hits on the evening—all of which were singles.
Logan Ondrusek improved to 2-2 and lowered his ERA to 5.72
thanks to five innings through which he allowed one run on two hits and struck
out six. Jacob Marceaux tossed the final two innings without allowing a hit or
run as the Florida Marlins prospect earned his second save of the campaign.
Anthony Hatch led West Oahu
(13-22-2) at the dish, going 2-4 with a triple and an RBI. Erik Stiller (1-4,
5.06 ERA) took the loss after allowing three runs on four hits through four
innings. Reliever Ken Miyamoto lowered his ERA to 0.31 thanks to two strong
innings from the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters prospect.
Both squads return to Hans L’Orange Park tomorrow at 6:30
p.m. for the second game of a three-game set.
