West Oahu kept its undefeated Hawaii Winter baseball
campaign rolling with a 9-6, come-from-behind victory over winless Waikiki

The CaneFires (4-0) took their first lead of the game in the eighth inning thanks to a three-run outburst capped by James Skelton’s two-run double to deep center field. The CaneFires scored runs in each of the final four innings, and have now brought across 39 runs through the first four games.
Miles Durham doubled and scored twice and teammate Chris Hatcher also chipped in a double.
Mike Ramlow improved to 2-0 thanks to two innings of scoreless relief, and two strikeouts.
BeachBoys starter Mitsuo Yoshikawa did not factor in the decision after allowing an unearned run on three hits while striking out seven CaneFires through four innings. Philippe-Alexandre Valiquette (0-1) took the loss, surrendering two earned runs in 1 1/3 innings.
The same two teams meet again at 7 p.m. tomorrow in the final game of their three-game set at Hans L’Orange Park.
