Waikiki picked up its first win of the 2008 Hawaii Winter
Baseball campaign with an 11-2 victory over West Oahu tonight at
The BeachBoys (1-4) became the last of the four HWB teams to
earn a win, but the red-and-white clad squad posted nine runs in the first
three innings, including a six-run outburst in the second frame. Waikiki
pounded out 10 hits and took advantage of three

BeachBoys starter Yuhei Takai (1-0) earned the victory, tossing four innings and allowing an unearned run on three hits while striking out four.
Fumikazu Kimura (0-1) took the loss after allowing six runs on four hits through just 1 1/3 innings.
The BeachBoys visit the North Shore Honu for a three-game series starting at 7 p.m. tomorrow night at Hans L’Orange Park.
The CaneFires travel to face the Honolulu Sharks for the first of a three-game set starting at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at Les Murakami Stadium.
