Tony Thomas Jr. added a two run double later in the seventh inning, and Yonder Alonso also drove in a run on a ground out to give the BeachBoys the 8-1 lead.
Scott Shaw (1-1) took the loss for the Sharks, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out five through four innings.
