West Oahu pounded out 14 hits, and received at least one
base knock from each of its offensive starters as the CaneFires defeated
Miles Durham and Wally Crancer paced
The CaneFires (13-13) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first
inning on
West Oahu added two more runs in the third inning on Henson’s
double that plated Adam Loewen and
After both squads added a run in the fourth,
But the CaneFires pulled away for good in the home half of
the inning with a five-run outburst highlighted by a two-run single from Crancer,
and an RBI single off the bat of Hallberg.
The BeachBoys received two RBIs apiece from Sublett,
Kieschnick and Yonder Alonso, while James McOwen chipped in three hits in
defeat.
Guerra (0-1) took the loss, allowing four runs on four hits
and striking out five through 2 1/3 innings.
The squads return to Hans L’Orange Park tomorrow at 1 p.m.
for the finale of a three-game series.
