West Oahu pounded out 15 hits en route to a 5-1 victory over
The Hawaii Winter Baseball West Division champion CaneFires
received three hits apiece from Kyle Peter, Mark Hallberg and Adam Loewen, and
have now won five consecutive games.
The CaneFires (18-14) took advantage of seven
In the victory, Hallberg notched his 21st RBI of
the season, while Matt Inouye, a former
Michael Taylor paced the Sharks (16-17) with a double and an
RBI in defeat.
West Oahu starter Fumikazu Kimura (1-2) notched the victory,
tossing 5 2/3 innings and allowing a run on three hits and striking out four.
Reliever Andrew Hess chipped in 2 1/3 scoreless innings, and Sean Gleason
closed out the ninth.
Both squads have tomorrow off, and return to action Friday.
