Honolulu starter George Kontos tossed five strong innings
and struck out a Hawaii Winter Baseball season-high 11 North Shore batters as
the Sharks blanked the Honu, 2-0, for the second consecutive game tonight at
Hans L’Orange Park. Tyler Wilson finished off
At one point, Kontos (2-2, 3.00 ERA) struck out six straight and seven of eight batters swinging, and surrendered just three hits. Kontos, a prospect out of the New York Yankees system, threw 45 of his 63 pitches for strikes.
Both squads have the day off tomorrow after eight consecutive days of games.
