The Waikiki BeachBoys used a five-run eighth inning to pull
away from and eventually defeat the host Honolulu Sharks, 9-1, this afternoon
at
Michael Wilson (pictured left) tripled, doubled and drove in a game-high
three runs for
Kyohei Muranaka (2-0, 2.00 ERA) won his second consecutive start, and surrendered just one run despite giving up nine hits in 5 2/3 innings. The Tokyo Yakult Swallows prospect threw 61 of his 95 pitches for strikes, and fanned six batters on the afternoon. Shane Lindsay picked up his second save of the campaign by not allowing a hit or run in the game’s final two frames.
Austin Jackson and Brandon Snyder each notched three hits
including two doubles apiece in support of the Sharks, who have now lost three
straight games.
The teams return tomorrow at noon for the series finale at Hans L’Orange Park.
